Rotschne I Manro
MIXED GOODS TRADE
In 1902, Josef Rotschne, born in 1860, founded a general store at Waaggasse 15 in Freistadt. In 1922, his son Josef, born in 1898, took over the business and expanded it to include rope goods, bicycles, sewing machines and typewriters.
START WITH MOTOR VEHICLES
In order to adapt to the needs of consumers, motor vehicles were added to the range. Thanks to the Rotschne family's hard work, inventiveness and commercial acumen, the company was able to expand despite adverse economic conditions.
EARLY CONTACT WITH AUTOMOTIVES
Manfred Rotschne, born in Freistadt in 1950, came into contact with automobiles at an early age. His technical interest and his passion for screwdriving led him to the mechanical engineering HTL in St. Pölten, where he successfully graduated in 1975 and acquired the title of engineer. As the youngest of nine children, his eldest brother took over the family business. A historical photo shows the delivery of a Tatra-Plan 600 by Josef Rotschne Senior in 1950, the year Manfred Rotschne was born, in the Stierhangar in Freistadt.
COLLECT EXPERIENCE WITH AUTOMOTIVE COMPANIES
Manfred Rotschne gained extensive management experience at various car importers: General Motors in Vienna, Porsche Salzburg, Denzel Linz and Toyota Vienna. There he not only trained to be an excellent salesman, but also acquired valuable knowledge about financing and business life.
SELF-EMPLOYED IN THE CAR WORLD
From 1983 to 1988, Manfred Rotschne ran his own car dealership in Freistadt with a repair shop for Volvo, Mitsubishi and Ferrari.
ENTRY INTO THE REAL ESTATE INDUSTRY
In 1988 he retired from the automotive industry and founded the real estate investment company MANRO Immobilien in Freistadt and Linz with his wife Maria. Today the company's portfolio includes interest houses in Freistadt, Linz, Bad Leonfelden, Neumarkt im Mühlkreis, Hagenberg, Pregarten, Hellmonsödt and Salzburg. Despite working in real estate, the passion for classic automobiles remained, and always kept a few classics in the garage for the summer.
THE NEXT GENERATION
Therese Rotschne, born in 1991, was infected with the “oldtimer” virus at a young age. She has lived out her passion for classic automobiles in many ways: Therese takes part in rallies, is a talented car photographer and has excellent knowledge of the world of classic cars. Always striving to expand her knowledge and skills, she continues the tradition of the Rotschne/Manro family with great commitment and enthusiasm.
