STORY

The Mercedes 190 SL, introduced in the late 1950s, is a symbol of elegance and technical innovation.

This model was first presented at the New York Auto Show in 1954 as a cheaper, more elegant alternative to the legendary 300 SL “Gullwing”.

The 190 SL shared many styling elements with its bigger brother, including the sleek bodywork and luxurious interior, but featured a smaller 1.9-litre engine and a conventional door layout, making it a more practical and accessible vehicle for everyday use.

During its production period from 1955 to 1963, the 190 SL became one of the most iconic roadsters in Mercedes-Benz history.

The car was particularly popular with those who wanted the sporty flair of a convertible, but did not want to forego comfort and reliability.

Today, the Mercedes 190 SL is a sought-after collector's item, valued not only for its beauty and classic design, but also as an investment and testimony to automotive history.

PERSONAL STORY

A masterpiece of German engineering, the Mercedes 190 SL began its delightful journey in one of the most glamorous places in Europe – the Côte d'Azur in France.

Where the azure sea meets luxurious yachts and exclusive resorts, this elegant roadster found its first home. Not long after, the 190 SL continued its journey and found its way to sophisticated Monaco, a place that seems made for a car of its class and elegance.

Over the years, the 190 SL has undergone a careful overhaul by Kienle, one of the most renowned restorers of classic Mercedes-Benz vehicles in Germany. This loving and detailed restoration has not only restored the vehicle to its former glory, but has also ensured that it is technically up to date without losing its historical character.

The Mercedes 190 SL has been in the possession of a passionate collector for almost two decades.
