STORY

The history of the Mercedes-Benz 600 is a fascinating journey through the world of luxury and technology. It was produced from 1963 to 1981 and is considered one of the most outstanding vehicles of its time.

The Mercedes 600 was not only a luxury car, but also a status symbol. It was favored by numerous celebrities, heads of state, businessmen and other influential people around the world. Among the prominent owners of the Mercedes 600 were Elvis Presley, John Lennon, Hugh Hefner, Coco Chanel and many more.

The development of the Mercedes 600 began in the late 1950s when Mercedes-Benz decided to develop a new luxury sedan that would offer all available technical innovations and amenities. The goal was to create a vehicle that combined the highest levels of comfort and luxury with exceptional performance.

Another outstanding feature of the Mercedes 600 was its hydropneumatic suspension, which offered unparalleled driving comfort. This suspension automatically adapted to different driving situations.

The interior of the Mercedes 600 was also a masterpiece of design and luxury. Passengers enjoyed generous space, comfortable seats, high-quality materials and a variety of amenities.

During its approximately 18-year production period, only 2,677 units were built.

PERSONAL STORY

This 220 marked the first step towards the founding of Mercedes Pappas in Austria.

Apparently this was the first Mercedes that Dimitri Pappas imported and drove through Salzburg with the license plate S-82. This license plate is still owned by the Pappas family and is used to drive the Mercedes 600 Pullmann, which is registered at the same time.

The 220 was then owned for several years by the 'Grazer Wühlmaus' Johnny Resch, who was significantly involved in the construction of numerous tunnels in Austria.
