STORY
'The most beautiful car in the world' quote Enzo Ferrari
The history of the Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 is closely linked to the changes Jaguar made in the late 1960s to adapt the sports car to new safety and environmental regulations, especially in the USA.
The original 3.8-liter engine was replaced by a more powerful 4.2-liter engine in the 1.5 series.
The revised version is often referred to as Series 1.5 and was a transition phase between Series 1 and the upcoming Series 2.
Series 1.5 (1967–1968) features: The concealed headlights were replaced with open headlights to comply with US regulations. A second radiator fan was added to improve cooling performance. The front indicators were enlarged while the taillights were made smaller. The dashboard and interior were revised.
The Series 1.5 was therefore an adaptation of the E-Type to the changing demands of the time, particularly in terms of safety and environmental standards. Despite these changes, the E-Type retained its reputation as one of the most beautiful and capable sports cars of its era.
PERSONAL STORY
This E-Type has been in Austria for decades and was most recently located in the beautiful Vorarlberg mountains.
What's nice about this example is its originality. It still has its original paint. This has a few blemishes but is precisely what makes this vehicle so authentic.
There is hardly any other vehicle that is so popular and puts a smile on people's faces.
