STORY
The Ginetta story began in 1958 when the Walklett brothers founded the small sports car manufacturer Ginetta in England. With lightweight, agile vehicles for both road and track, the brand quickly made a name for itself. The Ginetta G4, introduced in 1961, remains one of the company's most famous classics and was initially available exclusively as a kit car.
In the 1990s, DARE (Design And Research Engineering) revived the legendary G4. The new version, as seen here, remained visually faithful to the original, but benefited from modern manufacturing quality and contemporary technology.
Handling
With its low weight, direct steering, and classic British sports car charm, the Ginetta G4 DARE offers a driving experience that is often on par with modern sports cars in terms of sheer driving pleasure. This particular vehicle is even street legal and is one of only four Ginetta G4s or G4 DAREs registered in Austria.
With a weight of only around 550 kg, a 5-speed manual transmission, a top speed of approximately 190 km/h and a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in about 5.8 seconds, this compact Briton is a true driver's car in the spirit of the 1960s – with a modern interpretation.
