STORY
The original Mustang!
The 1964 Ford Mustang Convertible has a fascinating history that is closely tied to the introduction of the entire Ford Mustang. First introduced to the public on April 17, 1964, the Ford Mustang is one of the most iconic muscle cars in American automotive history. The convertible was one of the body styles offered along with the coupe and fastback.
The Ford Mustang was introduced at the World's Fair in New York on April 17, 1964.
The convertible contributed significantly to the sales success of the Ford Mustang. The combination of sportiness, style and affordable price made the Mustang a best seller overall.
The convertible's design reflected the "pony car" style that was characteristic of the Mustang. A long hood, short trunk, distinctive grille and the legendary pony logo contributed to the iconic appearance.
The 1964 Ford Mustang convertible was a pioneer in affordable sports cars and had a significant impact on American car culture. It remains a sought-after collector's item and a symbol of the golden era of muscle cars.
PERSONAL STORY
This Mustang was delivered in exactly this color combination to its first owner in Las Vegas in 1965.
This golden classic certainly has a few stories to tell.
In fact, until 2018, it remained at home in the Nevada desert among millions of colorful lights.
It was then imported and given a final touch in Austria before it was added to our collection of US cars in the museum.
